The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another athletic target to their receiving corps, signing American wide receiver Ali Jennings III.
Jennings arrives in Green and White after finishing his collegiate career at Virginia Tech, where he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver appeared in 14 games for the Hokies, making five starts and showing his big-play ability with 20 receptions for 444 yards and five touchdowns, averaging nearly 20 yards per catch. Following his senior season, Jennings earned an invitation to the Green Bay Packers’ rookie minicamp, gaining a taste of the NFL evaluation process.
Before his stop in Blacksburg, Jennings made his biggest mark at Old Dominion, where he emerged as one of the most productive receivers in program history. The Virginia native played and started all 21 games over two seasons with the Monarchs, breaking out in a massive 2021 campaign that saw him post 1,066 yards on 62 receptions with five touchdowns. He followed that performance with another standout year in 2022, hauling in 54 passes for 959 yards while leading the Sun Belt Conference with nine touchdown catches. Jennings averaged more than 17 yards per reception in both seasons at Old Dominion and was named a First Team All-Sun Belt selection in 2022.
Jennings began his college career at West Virginia, appearing in 19 games across the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He recorded 26 receptions for 240 yards and two touchdowns with the Mountaineers before transferring closer to home.
Jennings will be at rookie camp with the Riders in Saskatoon this spring.Â
