LLOYDMINSTER — Lloydminster RCMP arrested a man Thursday after responding to reports that a firearm had been pointed at people inside city hall.
Police say the call came in on Jan. 8. Officers arrived within minutes and located the suspect as he was leaving the area. He was arrested without incident. A search following his arrest revealed the weapon was a replica firearm. No injuries were reported.
RCMP have charged 35-year-old Stephen Thunderblanket of Cut Knife with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Thunderblanket was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 13.
