MAIDSTONE – A woman is facing charges after suspected cocaine was seized near Maidstone.
On Jan. 8 the Saskatchewan RCMP Roving Traffic Unit stopped a car travelling on Highway 16, near Maidstone for a vehicle equipment regulations violation. As a result of further police investigation, the adult female driver of the car was arrested. A search of the vehicle took place and RCMP officers located and seized approximately four kilograms of suspected cocaine.
A 41-year-old woman, from Edmonton, Alta., is charged with:
- One count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and
- One count, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
The accused is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on March 9.
