REGINA — A Regina realtor has been fined $10,000 for tampering with Google Business profiles.
In December 2025, the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission charged former registered eXp Realty salesperson Sagar Kundra with multiple instances of professional misconduct.
The chargers stem from 2024 after Kundra enrolled with a digital marketing firm to manage and market two of his Google Business profiles with the help of an account manager.
Google Business allows people to find businesses on Google Maps and Search.
Shortly after starting his profiles, Kundra was notified on April 22, 2024, that his account was suspended.
His account manager said the suspension came from policy violations, later informing Kundra that Google “unauthorised edits being made to a business profile.”
Confused by how this was possible, his account manager explained that anyone can visit a profile and attempt to make edits.
“Mr. Kundra [then] told the account manager that he would give him a few Google Business profiles and that he would pay him $250 per account to tamper with these accounts,” according to the document.
One of those profiles has been for a real estate team (described as Real Estate Team A in the document).
After, the account manager provided a photo of Real Estate Team A’s profile showing they are “permanently closed.”
“Mr. Kundra then sent the account manager a link to the Google Business profile for Registrant A, an agent with Brokerage B and a member of Real Estate Team A,” stated the document.
For Registrant A, a photo showed that the account manager had changed the profile to show it was a bar, nightclub.
Along with those profiles, Kundra also confirmed that he wanted his second Google Business profile altered.
The account manager then asked Kundra for payment for the two profile edits made.
“Mr. Kundra responded that he was surprised at how easily someone could damage someone’s hard work,” said the document.
“He was shocked to see how easy it is to do this and that anybody could do it, and that his values didn’t allow him to do something destructive to someone for his own benefit,” the document added.
On April 29, 2024, the account manager inquired again about the money Kundra owed.
“Mr. Kundra responded to the account manager and told him that he wouldn’t be able to pay for anything destructive, as his values didn’t allow it,” noted the document.
The account manager told Kundra he did all the edits upon his request and that it was “too late to realize that he couldn’t pay for anything destructive.”
Kundra apologized to the account manager, saying he couldn’t do anything about it.
The document then described the relationship between Kundra and the account manager, breaking down after Kundra had been threatened to have evidence showing he had asked to edit Real Estate Team A’s and Registrant A's profiles.
“Mr. Kundra told the account manager to go to hell and to do whatever the heck he wanted to do,” said the document.
On May 24, 2024, the account manager advised Registrant A of Kundra’s action to edit their Google Business profile, along with Real Estate Team A’s profile.
In an email, the account manager provided screenshots of the conversation between them and Kundra.
Shortly after, Registrant A reached out to the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission to file a complaint.
On May 28, the commission received the complaint and advised Kundra that a response was required.
In June, Kundra stated to the commission's review officer that the email sent by the account manager was false and the screenshots shared were forged.
“You can easily imagine how easy it is to create these kinds of proofs in the new era of artificial intelligence,” he said.
The review officer asked Kundra to provide copies of all correspondence between himself and the account manager.
After Kundra provided copies of the chat, the commission confirmed his actions to pay the account manager $250 to alter Google Business profiles.
With respect to his misconduct, the commission ordered Kundra to pay $10,000 for two by-law violations.
Kundra's Certificate of Registration was also suspended for 30 days.
