REGINA — It was a big year of economic impact from Tourism Regina and partners.
According to the city, Tourism Regina, with help from Tourism Saskatchewan and the Regina Hotel Association, helped generate over $135 million of economic impact for Regina.
Jennifer Johnson, deputy city manager for Communications, Service Regina and Tourism, said they were thrilled to show off the city to many visitors.
“We are known for being fantastic event hosts, and we are proud of how many events we’ve bid on and won. When visitors come to our city, they stay in hotels, eat at local restaurants and support all our small businesses.”
Investment from the city, province, and private investors to host these events led to an increase in visitor spending, airport arrivals and hotel occupancy from 2024 to 2025.
Key events, including the Vanier Cup, Canadian Western Agribition, Skills Canada National Competition, and The Grind, helped welcome over 170,000 visitors.
For 2026, the city said eight events funded by the Events, Conventions and Trade Shows (ECT) have been confirmed.
