REGINA — Regina Police Service and the coroner’s office are investigating a suspicious death in central Regina early Monday morning.
According to Regina police, just before 3 a.m. on Jan. 19, officers attempted a traffic stop near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street. The vehicle evaded police but was located a short time later by the RPS Aerial Support Unit in the 1400 block of Princess Street. All occupants had exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
Officers on the ground searched the suspect vehicle and located the body of a deceased person inside. Further investigation led officers to a residence in the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue. Officers secured both scenes and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit. At this time, the death is considered suspicious. The victim’s name will not be released at this time.
