SASKATCHEWAN — Heavy winds across the province have led to dozens of wind-related claims for damages that occurred.
Between Thursday and Friday, parts of Saskatchewan saw 90 km/hr winds, with areas including Estevan and Coronach reaching winds of 104/km/h.
Saturday also brought strong winds to southeast and east-central Saskatchewan, ranging from 60 to 70 km/h.
According to SGI, the strong gusts led to 25 wind-related auto claims between Jan. 15 and Jan. 19.
"This includes vehicles that were damaged by the wind or by objects blown into/onto them,” said the insurance company in a statement.
SGI noted these claims don’t include vehicles damaged because of poor visibility, including blowing snow.
Meanwhile, SGI Canada has received 41 wind-related property claims in Saskatchewan between Jan. 15 and Jan. 19.
SGI said these numbers will likely grow once people have a chance to assess any damage.
People can submit a claim on SGI’s website or contact the company at 1-844-TLK-2SGI.
