PRINCE ALBERT —A 30-year-old man wanted on several outstanding warrants from a Saskatchewan RCMP investigation was arrested Thursday evening in the Easthill neighbourhood after a co-ordinated police operation in Prince Albert.
According to Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS), members of the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) identified a residence in the 500 block of 23rd Street East where they believed the man had been staying.
Officers from multiple units, including CRT members along with members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, Proactive Policing Unit (PPU) Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT), and crisis negotiators, went to the home on Jan. 22.
Police say the man was located inside and arrested without further incident.
After the arrest, officers obtained a search warrant for the home. A search conducted by CRT and PPU members resulted in the seizure of a crossbow, several CO2-style firearms (airsoft), ammunition, firearm accessories, a bullet proof vest and a machete.
PAPS say the investigation remains active and more updates will be released as more information become available.
