SASKATOON – A 15-day jury trial began Monday in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench for Katlim Kristian John Desjarlais-Kelly, who is charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in February 2024.
According to Saskatoon Police Service, officers were called to the Caswell Hill neighbourhood shortly before 7 a.m. for reports of an injured man. They arrived at a home at 238 Avenue K North and found 48-year-old Arden Panipekeesick suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was later pronounced dead, becoming Saskatoon’s second homicide victim of 2024.
Police said Desjarlais-Kelly and Panipekeesick were known to each other.
