SASKATOON — A taxi driver was pushed and confronted by two people – one armed with a machete – while going to a call in the Eastview neighbourhood in Saskatoon late Monday night.
Saskatoon Police Service officers were called to the 2200 block of Easthill around 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 26 after the driver reported that two people came out of a home and shoved him as he arrived. One of them was carrying a machete.
Officers entered the residence and found several people inside, including a 41-year-old who they say was carrying two knives and a collapsible baton. Police say he also had methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The man is now facing multiple charges, including three counts of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public and breach of probation. He is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court at a later date.
Police didn’t release his name.
