REGINA — Regina police have charged a second suspect in connection with a homicide investigation that began earlier this month, after officers discovered a man’s body inside an abandoned vehicle on the city’s west side.
On Jan. 26, police arrested 37-year-old Steven Myslichuk, who is now charged with committing an indignity to a dead body and accessory after the fact to murder. He will appear in Regina Provincial Court on Jan. 28.
On Jan. 23, police released Myslichuk's photo on social media saying there was a warrant for his arrest on a charge of committing an indignity to a dead body.
His arrest follows charges laid last week against 26-year-old Kobe Samual Fiddler, who faces several charges including committing an indignity to a dead body, flight from a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and accessory after the fact to murder.
According to Regina Police Service, shortly before 3 a.m., on Jan. 19, Regina police attempted a traffic stop near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street. The vehicle evaded officers and was later located by the Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit in the 1400 block of Princess Street. By the time officers arrived, all occupants had fled on foot.
When officers searched the vehicle, they found the body of a dead man inside. Investigators later secured a residence in the city's Pioneer Village neighbourhood in the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation. Anyone who has information that could assist police in this investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
