SASKATOON — A 21-year-old man is facing a weapons charge after police responded to a report of a firearm Wednesday evening in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.
Saskatoon police were called to a gas station at 20th Street and Avenue P shortly before 9 p.m. on Jan. 28 after a man ran inside and told employees he was being chased by someone armed with a gun. Patrol officers responded and searched the area.
According to police, officers soon located the suspect. No firearm was found, but police say the man was carrying an expandable baton. He was arrested without incident.
The suspect is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. Police say he was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
