REGINA — A 34-year-old woman is facing charges after Regina police arrested the driver of a stolen vehicle early Friday morning in the North Central neighbourhood following a brief foot chase assisted by a police dog.
According to police, the officer monitored the vehicle as it travelled from the area of Montague Street and Seventh Avenue to the area of Queen Street, where it stopped in the 1200 block. The driver got out of the vehicle and began walking away.
The officer attempted to stop the driver. When the driver fled on foot, a police dog was used to assist with the arrest. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and was assessed by EMS for minor injuries consistent with a dog bite.
