ESTEVAN — A woman is facing three charges following an incident in Estevan.
According to the Jan. 29 police report, the EPS were called to an assault at a residence, in which two suspects left the scene in a vehicle. Members patrolled the area and located the suspect vehicle.
The EPS said a traffic stop was conducted and two women were initially detained while further details were obtained. While speaking with the suspects, the driver was observed showing signs of impairment and subsequently failed a roadside screening test.
The driver was transported to the police station, where the EPS said she provided breath samples that established impairment. She was subsequently charged with impaired driving, uttering threats and assault, and she was lodged in cells until sober.
No further details were released.
A credit card fraud was reported. The EPS said the financial institution reversed the charges and cancelled the credit card so there was no loss by the victim. The bank is continuing to investigate the fraudulent charges.
Police were called to the downtown area for a report of a youth alone in the parking lot of a liquor establishment and asking for money. The EPS said members attended and brought him home to a parent. No further police action was required.
A 39-year-old woman was arrested, charged with causing a disturbance and lodged in cells until sober. She will appear in court in March to speak to the charges.
The EPS conducted a well-being check Jan. 28 on an individual at the request of a community resource provider. On arrival, family members were assisting the individual to connect with resources. No further police involvement was required.
A fraud related to the sale of a vehicle is under investigation by the EPS.
Members received a report of two incidents of youths climbing into secure guest boxes at Affinity Place and consuming alcohol. The EPS said the matter remains under investigation.
A hit-and-run collision was reported to have occurred in a business parking lot in the Trojan area. The matter is also under investigation.
An attempted scam was reported to the police in which a caller attempted to impersonate the intended victim’s grandchild in order to obtain money. No personal information or funds were provided to the caller, and the matter has been referred to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
EPS members attended to an alarm at a business in the Bay Meadows area. The alarm was determined to be false.
