REGINA — A preliminary hearing is set for June to determine whether there is sufficient evidence for Daniel ‘Juma’ Atem to stand trial.
Atem is charged with first-degree murder in the July 2023 shooting death of 32-year-old Roman Miller in the Transitional neighbourhood, in the 2100 block of Broad Street.
His co-accused, Shredek Samuel, also faces a first-degree murder charge in Miller’s death. Samuel's is back in Regina court Feb. 12. He was granted bail last year.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Atem in early 2024. He was later added to the BOLO Program’s Top 25 Most Wanted list in April 2024.

Atem was arrested in Winnipeg in January 2025 and returned to Saskatchewan.
