REGINA — Average retail gasoline prices in Regina have fallen 4.3 c/L in the past week, averaging 117.77 c/L Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 82 gas outlets in Regina. This compares with the national average that has increased 0.3 c/L in the last week to 127.31 c/L, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
“While oil prices climbed to their highest level in months amid geopolitical tensions and supply concerns, the national average price of gasoline in Canada was little changed over the last week, rising ever so slightly,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Most provinces did see price increases, though Alberta and Saskatchewan saw prices move lower, thanks to above-average gasoline inventories and softer demand. Elsewhere, upward pressure is beginning to build as the seasonal transition toward summer gasoline approaches, and over the coming weeks, we’re likely to see more provinces seeing increases than declines.”
Including the change in gas prices in Regina during the past week, prices yesterday were 31.8 c/L lower than the same day one year ago and are 1.8 c/L higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 5.6 c/L during the last month and stands 26.3 c/L lower than this day one year ago.
