One of the most respected and recognizable figures in Canadian football is coming to Saskatoon this spring.
Former CFL all-star running back, Grey Cup–winning head coach and current Toronto Argonauts President and CEO Michael “Pinball” Clemons will headline the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Dogs’ Breakfast XXIV on April 30 at Prairieland Park.
The Huskie Football Foundation announced Clemons as this year’s featured speaker, marking another high-profile addition to one of the premier football fundraising events in Canada.
“Announcing our guest speaker is always one of the highlights of the year, and this year is truly special,” said Dogs’ Breakfast committee member John Hyshka. “We’re proud to welcome Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons — an iconic leader, Grey Cup champion, and one of the most respected figures in Canadian football. His passion, perspective, and inspiring journey will resonate deeply with our audience.”
Clemons’ résumé speaks for itself. An electrifying player during his CFL career, he later became a Grey Cup–winning head coach before moving into executive leadership with the Argonauts. Along the way, he has earned a reputation not just for football success, but for leadership, positivity and impact far beyond the field.
That combination is exactly what makes him a natural fit for the Dogs’ Breakfast, according to Huskie Football head coach Scott Flory.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Canadian Football Hall of Famer Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons to the Dogs’ Breakfast to share his incredible journey as a leader, athlete, and coach,” Flory said. “His story of perseverance, positivity, and impact perfectly reflects the values we strive to instill in our student-athletes.”
The Dogs’ Breakfast has been the cornerstone fundraiser for the Huskie Football Foundation since its creation in 2001. Net proceeds from the annual event support scholarships, academic assistance and program enhancements for University of Saskatchewan Huskie football student-athletes.
“In today’s competitive environment, the support of the Huskie Football Foundation and events like the Dogs’ Breakfast directly influence our success on the field,” Flory added. “We deeply appreciate everyone who continues to champion our program and players.”
Known for an energy that earned him the nickname “Pinball,” Clemons has become equally renowned as a motivational speaker and community leader. His work with charities, schools and community organizations has earned widespread recognition across the country.
Tickets for the Dogs’ Breakfast XXIV are on sale now and are available online through the Huskie Football Foundation.
The event takes place April 30 at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.
