The Yorkton Terriers stretched their winning streak to four games with a 3–1 win over the Estevan Bruins on Wednesday night.
Yorkton fell behind early when Rylan Williams scored on the game’s first shot, beating Alexandro Montoya high glove for his 21st of the season. The Terriers answered quickly, as Gabriel Courchesne netted his 25th of the year by banking the puck in off Dylan Adams. Less than three minutes later, Thomas Ries gave Yorkton the lead, sending a point shot through traffic and past Adams.
The Terriers clamped down defensively in the third and sealed the result with an empty-net goal from Tylan Henrikson, his fifth of the campaign. Montoya turned aside 21 of 22 shots to earn the win.
Yorkton has a day off before hosting the Bruins on Friday, then travels down Highway 10 to Melville on Saturday.
Elsewhere, in Nipawin, Gage Roberts made 39 saves for the shutout as the Hawks blanked the Weyburn Red Wings 2–0 on home ice. Eric Hoiness and Mason Karakochuk provided the offence. The Hawks now sit tied with the Terriers at 54 points.
In Warman, Stein Dostal scored twice and Mattias Radke stopped 24 shots to power the Kindersley Klippers to a 5–1 win over the Wolverines. The victory moves the Klippers past Melville and into a tie with Estevan at 45 points.
