SASKATOON — Two people charged with first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Matthew Brabant were back in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday.
Lawrence Opikokew, 26, and Tyler Pambrun, 27, were both remanded in custody. Opikokew is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 25, while Pambrun is set to appear on March 6.
According to Saskatoon Police Service, officers were called about 5 a.m. on May 17, 2025, to a motel in the Airport Business Area, in the 2000 block of Avenue B North, where they found Brabant suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
