CANWOOD — Ahtahkakoop/Shellbrook RCMP have charged a man with attempted murder after a serious assault.
On Feb. 9 at around 10 p.m., Shellbrook/Ahtahkakoop RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a business in Canwood.
The investigation determined a man assaulted two individuals, one who was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature and one who was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
The man was arrested nearby and initially charged with offences including assault causing bodily harm. As a result of the continued investigation, the charges were upgraded on Feb. 19.
Roger Herman, 33, from La Loche, is now charged with:
- one count of attempted murder;
- one count of aggravated assault; and
- one count of mischief under $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Feb. 20.
