Pats, Blades meet for first time this season on Sunday afternoon

The Regina Pats are looking to rebound from a 7-2 loss at home on Friday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes when they host the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday at the Brandt Centre.

This is the first of six matchups between the division rivals on the season schedule.

Last year the Blades won the season series 5-1 and enter Sunday’s game on a five-game winning streak against the Pats.

Regina has three wins in the month of January and sits near the basement of the Western Hockey League standings at 13-26-3-2.

The Blades (23-19-1-2) are coming off a 3-2 loss at home Saturday night versus the Edmonton Oil Kings following a couple controversial moments in the game that didn’t swing in Saskatoon’s favour.

Opening faceoff between the Pats and Blades is at 4:00 p.m. from Regina. Listen to the game live on 620 CKRM beginning at 3:35 p.m.
