Stolen vehicle, drug and firearm charges laid after Tuesday morning rollover

A 23-year-old man is facing 25 charges after a rollover Tuesday on Albert Street North, north of the Albert Street overpass.

The Regina Police Service was called at about 1:50am to the southbound lanes.

Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was travelling south at a high speed, entered the ditch on the west side of the highway and rolled several times. Police say the rollover caused damage to a fence and significant damage to the vehicle itself.

Two people in the stolen vehicle were taken into custody and transported to hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.

Traffic was restricted during the investigation and re-opened at 6:00am.

RPS says 23-year-old Michael Mezaros of Moose Jaw is facing 25 charges including dangerous driving causing bodily harm, possession of stolen auto and 12 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to order.

A court date for Mezaros has yet to be set.
