Nutrien to lay off employees across North America, including Saskatchewan

A statement from Nutrien says in an effort to make operations as efficient as possible, there will be jobs impacted across its North American locations.

Executive Vice President and CEO of Potash, Ken Seitz, says there will be fewer than 50 employees affected at Saskatchewan’s headquarters in Saskatoon.

He describes the jobs as highly transactional and says they are moving to a more automated system.

In some cases, there may be transfers to other areas of Nutrien.

Seitz adds that Nutrien is communicating with employees this week to support them through the transition.
