RCMP have released the names and charges handed to the two individuals involved in the fatal hit and run incident Saturday morning, that killed 26-year-old Constable Shelby Patton.
Forty-one year-old Alphonse Stanley Traverse, and 42-year-old Marlene Velma Louise Pagee, from Winnipeg, have both been charged with manslaughter, failing to stop after an accident resulting in death, theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Pagee was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, and breach of an undertaking.
Traverse was also charged with breach of an undertaking, for leaving Manitoba.
Constable Patton pulled a white F250 pick-up truck over in Wolseley shortly before 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning after it had been reported stolen out of Manitoba, when the incident occurred.
During the traffic stop, Constable Patton was struck and killed by the vehicle, he died on the scene.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m. a farmer near the community of Odessa reported that occupants of a white truck were on his property and had stolen a second truck.
Police located the white F250 pick-up truck stuck in the mud of a field near Francis approximately one mile away from the abandoned farmer’s truck.
The suspects fled on foot and were arrested just before 10:00 a.m. without further incident.
Both Traverse and Pagee have been remanded in custody and will make their first court appearances at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning in Regina.

Constable Patton’s family has also informed RCMP that a fraudulent GoFundMe page has been created in the name of Constable Patton.
RCMP say do not give money to this account in the name of Sam Joseph or promote this account’s activities.
The investigation remains ongoing.
