Hospital of Regina Foundation  unveils winners of 2023 Fall Home Lottery

The Hospitals of Regina Foundation recently concluded its 2023 Fall Home Lottery.

The grand prize of this year’s fall home lottery, a $1.3 million showhome in Regina, was awarded to Dawnann Klimczak of Ituna.

Klimczak expressed her joy and surprise at winning the grand prize.

“We had no expectations that we would be winning anything from the lottery, and it was mainly to support the hospitals in Regina.”

She and her family had recently moved from Airdrie, Alberta, to Ituna, and this was their first time participating in the Regina lottery.

Klimczak explained that they had always supported hospital lotteries in Alberta and wanted to continue the tradition back in Saskatchewan.

“We believe it’s very important to support the foundation and hospitals in our local area, especially for rural communities such as Ituna, where Regina would be our closest major centre for access to critical care.”

As of now, the Klimczak family is deliberating whether to keep their new home or sell it.

Regardless of the outcome, their participation in the lottery has not only changed their lives but also contributed to the ongoing enhancement of healthcare services in southern Saskatchewan, thanks to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

Dino Sophocleus, the President and CEO of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the community for their unwavering support, bringing the foundation’s total to over $62 million.

These funds will continue to enhance healthcare services in southern Saskatchewan’s tertiary centers, particularly in Regina.

Sophocleus highlighted the critical role these funds play in supporting healthcare services, including pediatric care, cardiac care, surgical operations, and rehabilitation services at facilities like the Regina General Hospital, Pasqua Hospital, and the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

“All of those hospitals and the clinics and centres we have in Regina demand a lot of technology, a lot of equipment, all of that and more is supported by the foundation,” he said.

All winners will receive official notifications in writing, and the complete list of winners will be published on the Hospitals of Regina Foundation’s official website, hrfhomelottery.com, on November 10.
