Province adds five schools to mental health program

Premier Scott Moe, Mental Health and Addictions Minister Tim McLeod, and Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill announced the expansion of the Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) in Schools program to five additional schools in Saskatchewan.

The schools are Moose Jaw Peacock, Lloydminster Composite, Carpenter High School in Meadow Lake, St. Alphonsus School in Yorkton and Balfour Collegiate here in Regina.

With an extra $1 million in funding from the Ministry of Health’s 2024-25 budget, the government’s total annual investment in the MHCB program now stands at $3 million.

The program focuses on promoting positive mental health, early intervention, and providing support to students and families.
