REGINA–The City of Regina has opened the majority of its outdoor skating rinks for the winter season, giving residents access to free skating at locations across the city. Forty outdoor rinks are now available, including the rink in Victoria Park. More locations will open as ice preparation continues and weather conditions allow.
“Outdoor skating is a long-standing winter activity in Regina, and the rinks provide residents with safe and accessible spaces to enjoy throughout the season,” said Diana Burton, Director of Recreation & Cultural Services.
The City operates more than 50 outdoor skating rinks, along with eight indoor arenas and six shinny sites. Outdoor rinks typically open in December and remain available until late February, depending on ice conditions.
The outdoor rink network is also part of the Winter City Stamp Rally, an interactive activity that encourages residents and visitors to explore winter destinations throughout Regina by collecting stamps and earning points toward prizes. Details are available at Regina.ca/StampRally.
Several indoor arenas are offering public skating throughout the season, including free indoor skating opportunities at select locations during the holiday period. The most up-to-date information on indoor and outdoor skating schedules, locations and admission details can be found at Regina.ca/Rinks.
