Time flies when you are having fun. And May is tapping on the door with a full agenda. Below are just some of the events taking place, including the CKRM Country Cookouts.
620 CKRM is currently qualifying farm friends for the original Country Cookout that will be on the road every Tuesday and Thursday of May. Food, drink, entertainment, prizes and who knows maybe a special surprise or two. Colin Lovequist will be motoring around the province. Our first venture out is Tuesday, May 5th. Listen for the Country Corner Dinner Bell to ring.

Old Dominion’s How Good Is That Tour stops in Saskatoon at SaskTel Centre on the 2nd. Phil Vassar and Sasha will be the support acts. If you can’t make it to that show, check out Phil Vassar at Casino Regina Show Lounge on Thursday, April 30th – Sasha will be at Country Thunder Saskatchewan in July.
In Regina on the 2nd the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation presents Pigskins and Punchlines, this event will be held at the Regina Performing Arts Centre. It isn’t just the comedy of a professional comedian, but the stories from the Saskatchewan Roughrider players that also will be in attendance! Funds will aid the Foundations Win with Wellness program. Tickets are selling quickly and are $50.
The Royal Canadian Legion Regina Branch No. 001 Ladies Auxiliary SPRING TEA will be held at Harmony United Church on May 2nd from 1 to 3pm. Tickets are $10 per person Call Cheryl 306 533-9419.
The 4th annual Pump Couture Fashion Show takes place at the Conexus Arts Centre on Saturday, May 2. The Canadian-wide fundraiser features twenty-nine local models on the run way. Read their individual stories of living with diabetes on the Fashion Show for Diabetes Awareness | Diabetes Canada | Canada website. Tickets are available and are $100. Money raised helps send children with diabetes to summer camp.
Sunday, May 3rd the Prairie Winds Adult Community Band holds their Spring Concert at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue. It is a great day of music with some familiar faces that also play with the Rider Pep Band! Donations at the door. The event begins at 2pm.
The 21st Annual Love Your Neighbour Banquet – Rooted In Hope is Wednesday, May 13th at the Regina Apostolic Church. This is a major fundraiser for Souls Harbour Rescue Mission and tickets are close to being completely sold. The cost is just $50 or $300 for a table of 8. The object of the evening is to tell the stories of hope realized by those who have transformed their lives. These real-life stories tell of found freedom, healing and a fresh start through the support of people just like you.
