We launched our 620 CKRM Seeding Season Country Cookouts and what a legendary staple that perfectly captures the heart of Saskatchewan. We have been doing this for a long time now and it is more than just a get together, we have done more than just play music and eat. It has built a bridge between the Ag community, our clientele and everyone involved.
There is something truly special about the “Voice of Saskatchewan” pulling into a rural driveway to celebrate the people who feed the world. By bringing a catered feast and local camaraderie directly to those who make it possible, 620 CKRM proves that radio is still the ultimate community connector. While other stations stay in their world , we, at 620 CKRM, gets our boots on the ground, creating lifelong memories and a sense of belonging for farming families across the province. In a world of digital noise and chaos, the 620 CKRM Country Cookouts remain a refreshing, authentic reminder that nothing beats a good meal and great company under the Land of The Living Skies.
We appreciated the hospitality of Ewoud & Arnette Denboer and family, from the Strasbourg region. A committed hard working family of 8 working the land and making a life worth living. They were also the family that moved that massive house across southern Saskatchewan to the Strasbourg region. Of course I took a lot of images and video and would love to share them with you.
First stop was Silton. Then it was off to several of the Last Mountain communities.

Time to hang out in the great community of Strasbourg til’ cookout time.

Next we made our way out to Denboer’s homestead. Also I have to thank Tommy John and Rob Ehman for providing the great music. Also a treat to catch up with the boys.
