Despite the inclement weather we had a fantastic day out in southeast Saskatchewan for our sixth 620 CKRM Country Cookout of the season!
A massive thank you goes out to our wonderful hosts, Tom and Pat Davis of Creelman. Your hospitality was second to none, and it was truly great to sit down, share a meal, and meet absolutely everyone who came out to join the fun. I truly loved speaking with everyone. The rain might of put a hiccup into the proceedings but we all switched gears and thankyou to the Davis’s for opening your home to everyone. I was also mesmerized by the varying song birds at your bird feeder.
Now, I’ve been out to the Creelman and Fillmore areas before, but this trip reminded me of a golden rule about our beautiful province. If you just take the time to look, and truly keep your eyes open, there is always something new to see. Every dirt road, every local homestead, and every conversation reveals a piece of history or a hidden gem you missed the first time around.
Thank you to the Davis family and the entire community for making Country Cookout number six one to remember. We love exploring our roots, and we already can’t wait for the next stop!

On behalf of Tom and Pat Davis thank you for coming to our farm yesterday and hosting the Country Cookout. Although the rain put a damper on the event we as farmers always welcome the rain and everyone took it in stride. We were pleased to meet the CKRM team including many announcers we have listened to over the years and we congratulate the team for celebrating 100 years as the voice of Saskatchewan. In addition, we would like to thank all the sponsors who sponsor the Country Cookout and the guests who came from afar to join us. Thanks again for connecting with the community you serve. We were very impressed with the opportunity you provided and look forward to “hearing” from you in the future. CKRM does a First Class Event and we appreciate it.
Really enjoyed my day in the Creelman area with stops at villages that are no more. Also the abandoned homesteads always amaze me. The architecture was meant to last.

What a great visit with John Ray. He is a pillar of the community with a big heart. Funny story….He won our virtual country cookout in 2021 and we just dropped off the “goods”. His wife Arlene at that time was in for knee surgery. He was at our cookout this year and his wife Arlene was M.I.A as she was back in surgery for the other knee. What are the odds? Thanks John for the bison goodies.
