The 620 CKRM Country Cookout Seeding Season Edition concluded as another success, solidifying our legacy as a community staple across rural Saskatchewan. Traveling across the province throughout May, the 620 CKRM team wrapped up the spring tour by getting up close and personal in the farmyards of hardworking locals. From our initial stop with the Denboer family in Strasbourg to the final gatherings of the season with the Andrew Cattle Company near Zehner, the event succeeded in taking 620 CKRM from being just the “Voice of Saskatchewan” and transformed it into a face-to-face celebration of the agricultural communities that feed the world.
The cookouts delivered mutual benefits by acting as the ultimate link to rural farmers. I always loved this time of the year as we provided a well-deserved break and a sense of deep appreciation during the demanding and stressful seeding season. Those in attendance were treated to a fully catered comfort meal from Nicky’s Cafe & Catering alongside local drinks and live music performances from regional artists. This gave us the opportunity to connect with tight-knit rural towns—which can often feel overlooked by other radio outlets. I’m proud to say that we provide a dedicated platform to foster rural pride, share stories, and build lifelong memories and friends.
Thank you to all of our sponsors as our Country Cookouts provided an invaluable opportunity to directly engage with the agricultural sector in a meaningful, authentic setting. Ultimately, everyone involved walked away with a renewed appreciation for prairie hospitality and the enduring strength of Saskatchewan’s rural roots.
Again we can’t do this without our great sponsors…..Thank You!

To Tommy John Ehman and his bro Rob and Justin Labrash, we truly appreciate your commitment for providing the soundtrack to our cookouts this year. Your a big part of these and we had a lot of compliments on your performances.
We wrapped our Seeding Season Cookouts with a visit to the Andrew Cattle Company, a little north of Zehner. It was particularly special because we had a select few of the Saskatchewan Roughriders present with us. Craig Reynolds (President and CEO) and Kevin Klive (Senior Sales and Partner Relations Executive) along with A.J. Ouellette & Lake Korte-Moore.
I also have to send out a heartfelt Thank you to the Powertrain that drives and makes this machine move in the right direction. Nick Kaczmer & Samuel Hove for their diligence in the organization and setting up of our cookouts. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that they take care of. I applaud you gentlemen. I also need to thank our Broadcast Technician, Ryan Mochoruk, for getting/keeping me on the air during these road trips.
To our 620 CKRM staff that give of their time to ensure that we have a good time and make it an experience to remember….Cody Glydon, Gloria Evans, Ag Director Ryan Young, Perry Nyhus, Landon Van Everdink, Colin Laird, Shannon Dean, Jen Ulrikson, Martin Oldhouse and many others.
I started my day with a trip to Zehner with a few stops along the way including Frankslake. Check out my journey with me.

Lot of fond memories broadcasting and announcing out at Kings Park Speedway back in the day!

Oliver was out here walking the track for his next Cart race. We had a great visit despite the windy conditions.
