Cowboys and cowgirls will be heading to Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan with their rigs, setting up camp and preparing for the outdoor rodeo season to get started. And what a better place for new fans of the sport to experience the rough stock events. The grandstand sets you close enough to feel the hot breath of a raging bull. Hear the rattle of the chariot racing and the excitement of the chuckwagons crushing it off of the barrels. 270 rodeo contestants – 32 heats of chucks and chariots. Friday is Free, with donations accepted for Multiple Sclerosis. The night begins at 5:30 with Rodeo Slack. Caitlyn’s Crusaders’ Bronc Match follows. Saturday is Family Fun Day, at the grandstand the action begins with Chariots at 11, Rodeo at 12:30, Chuckwagons follow. The Bud Light Cabaret with Foxx Worthee and Third Degree Birnz starts up later in the evening. Sunday the rodeo and racing begin at 11am.

Into year number 33, the Pilot Butte Rodeo continues to assist community groups. George Galloway speaks of the amount of people this event takes to be successful. And while the faces maybe familiar, they always require and appreciate the extra help. Just ask how you can volunteer and enjoy the singing, serving up of food and drink.
