Canada will celebrate its 159th birthday today and that means there will several activities and schedule changes throughout the City of Regina.
Wascana Park will be home to celebrations from 8:30am until 11pm near the Saskatchewan Legislature building. The come-and-go event includes food trucks, concerts, and several family activities. The day will conclude with fireworks (weather permitting) starting at 10:30pm.

Government House on Dewdney Avenue will also be hosting Canada Day events with Lieutenant-Governor Bernadette McIntyre in attendance. Activities run from 1pm to 4pm and include the Pile Of Bones Brass Band, Japanese Drummers from the Regina Hibiki Taiko Club, Fenek Farms Petting Zoo, a salute to the Royal Canadian Legion, Ukrainian dancing, Science Centre activities, and special appearances from story book princesses and Spider-Man. If the weather does not cooperate, many of the events will be moved indoors to Government House.
The Regina Farmers Market will be set up downtown in Victoria Park from 9am to 1pm and the Tatanga Day Festival and Powwow will happening throughout the day until 6pm at Buffalo Meadows Park at 8th Avenue and Montague Street.
The RCMP Heritage Centre will be holding a Canada Day celebration for families from 2pm to 5pm which will include axe throwing, an obstacle course, crafting, and a scavenger hunt. The RCMP Sunset Ceremony will be held at depot starting at 6pm.
Canada Day means a number of schedule changes from the City of Regina. Transit will be running on the Sunday schedule and paratransit services will be operating from 8am to 9pm.
Waste collection will operate on the usual schedule, however parking meters will not be in effect downtown.
The Northwest Leisure Centre and the Sandra Schmirler Liesure Centre will open from noon to 6pm, the Wascana Pool will be open from 7am to to 8pm and the Maple Leaf Outdoor Pool will be open from 8am to 8pm. The Fieldhouse and Lawson Aquatic Centre will be open from 9am to 7pm. All civic offices in Regina will be closed.
