Country Thunder festival-goers are reminded to stay well hydrated this weekend thanks to a heat wave rolling through the province.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Regina, Lumsden, and Craven areas including all of southern Saskatchewan as the mercury soars starting on Friday. According to the forecast, Friday will see a high of 29 degrees Celsius, 32 on Sunday, and 33 to 35 on Sunday. With the humidty, it could feel upwards of 45 on Sunday.
Temperatures should moderate somewhat into next week with highs of 27 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Country Thunder is reminding fans to drink water frequently and to add electrolytes if possible. Festival-goers will be allowed to to bring in one sealed bottle of water and use the SaskTel water refill station afterwards. They also reccomend using lots of sunscreen, cooling towels, and portable fans.
Country Thunder Saskatchewan kicks off tonight in the Beer Gardens with Brayden King taking to the stage at 10pm with Travis Dolter closing out the evening at 12am. Campground gates will open at 9am today for fans.
