One Regina’s most iconic bands is set to take to the mainstage for the first time at Country Thunder Saskatchewan.
“We’ve been around the world performing on many stages and many festivals but it’s our first time performing here,” explained Dead South singer Nate Hilts.
The Dead South started in Regina in 2012 by Hilts and Danny Kenyon and since that time have carved out a unique sound and fan base across Canada and around the world. Over the years they have scored Juno nominations and won numerous Juno awards including two Canadian Independent Music Awards. The band has also gone on to perform and record at several iconic locations, most recently at Abbey Road Studios.
“We just recorded a new album at Abbey Road and that should be coming out in February or March and some new singles should be dropping soon,” added Hilts. “We just released a cover not to long ago called “Rocks in the Box” by The Decemberists.”
The band has also performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville nad will be heading out on Eurpean tour starting in September. The Dead South will take to the Country Thunder Stage Friday night at 7:30.
