Riley Green’s performance at Country Thunder Saskatchewan Friday night was extra special for a girl from Turnor Lake, Saskatchewan. Lea Mck (Mack) was called up out of the crowd to sing “You Look Like You Love Me” with Green on the mainstage after he saw her sign.
“He gave me a thumbs up and I couldn’t believe it. Everybody started screaming,” smiled Mck.
“You Look Like You Love Me” was a huge hit song from Green and Ella Langly, reaching number 1 in Canada, the US, and Australia. The song won Musical Event of the Year at the CMA Awards in 2024 and earned Langly her first chart topper.
@620ckrm What a show from #rileygreen at @Country Thunder Sask! incredible.
“At the beginning I felt nervous,” said Mck. “Then something just snapped and I felt like this is where I belong.”
Mck says she’s been singing since she was three years old thanks to a very musical family. Her father is a musician, her grandfather was a musician, and now she and her brother have carried on the music legacy of the family.
“At the age of 12 I started playing guitar and then I think I was 16 and I started playing harmonica,” explains Mck.
She cites Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Riley Green as some of her musical influences. You can hear our entire interview below:
