The Saskatchewan Roughriders will host the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday at Mosaic Stadium and gameday will have a real carnival feel to it.
“It’s our family day theme, which is always a great game to come out to,” said Karina Peterson, Manager of Game Entertainment & Community. “The variety of things you can do with your family as soon as you get on the footprint is always super exciting.”
Leading up to the game, students from School of Rock Canada will be performing at the Battle of the Bands event at the Security Building Supplies Riderland Park and youth football players from across Saskatchewan will show off their skills in the Engelheim Minor Football Showcase just before kick-off. During halftime, fans will be treated to a Rider Jr. cheer performance.
“The moment you step into the park we’ve got characters like Elsa, Anna, and Spiderman. We’re going to have a close-up magician, which is going to be a lot of fun there as well, and we’ve got colouring on the concourse this game, so lots of really interactive stuff,” explained Peterson.
Kick-off is set for 5pm on Saturday at Mosaic Stadium and 620 CKRM will broadcast the game for those who are unable to attend the game. The broadcast starts at 2pm with the Croft Electric Countdown to Kick-off. Guests include Andrew Harris, Glen Suitor, Anton Amundrud, and Cheer Team Captain Courtney Odelein-Akakpo, among others.
