There is nothing quite like harvest season on the prairies, and the 620 CKRM Country Cookout continues to capture the very heart of rural Saskatchewan by bringing neighbors & family together.

We appreciate small town Saskatchewan and a big salute goes out to the Metke family and Chris Lillejord for showcasing the incredible hospitality and community spirit found throughout the Pangman, Khedive, Brooking, Forward area’s and the surrounding countryside. These gatherings do so much more than provide a well-deserved break during the grueling harvest push….we celebrate, together, the hard work, resilience, and neighborly bonds that keep small-town Saskatchewan thriving.

With great company, local pride, and a true appreciation for the Ag Community this Country Cookout season reminds everyone why 620 CKRM remains the TRUE voice of the province.

Next stop was the hamlet of Khedive………………according to Les Froh at one time there was a lot going on in this community…even a car dealership, bowling alley and pool hall.

Next stop was the historical landmark of Forward…..where a town once was.

Next stop was Brooking, where the movie Revenge of the Land (1999 drama film), which used Brooking, SK as a filming location and renamed its grain elevator “Promise” for the fictional town in the story. Revenge of the Land (1999) is a Canadian historical drama television movie adapted from the biographical novel by Maggie Siggins, exploring the harsh realities, political corruption, and social strife of turn-of-the-century settlements on the Canadian prairies.
