The 61st annual Labour Day Classic returns to Mosaic Stadium on Sunday between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The weekend will get going on Saturday with the Capital Auto Fan Day celebrations. Fans can enter through gate one and will be able to watch the Roughriders morning walk through at 10:30am followed by an autograph session from 11:15am to 1pm on the upper concourse of Mosaic Stadium. Fans will also be able to go down to the field level from 1pm to 2pm.
The Labour Day Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday starting at 11:00am at Aspen Links in Emerald Park. The tournament will feature alumni from both the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Each registered golf team will get one player joining them on the course. The day will conclude with a roast beef supper and a social with DJ music.
Sunday’s Labour Day Classic game is completely sold out this year and fans won’t have a shortage of things to see and do before and during the game.
“We’ve got lot’s of real fun things happening on the footprint,” proclaimed Karina Peterson, Manager, Game Entertainment & Community. “The Coors Light Tailgate will be great, but then you can head into Security Building Supplies Riderland Park (where) we’ve got new inflatables last week, so lot’s of really fun activations and activties for the full family.”
In the stadium, the Canadian Armed Forces will be rappelling down to the field to deliver the game day ball, line dancing lessons will be happening courtesy of the CCMA’s, and Faber Drive will be performing at halftime.
Kickoff for the 61st Labour Day Classic will be at 5pm. The game will be broadcast on 620 CKRM.
