Deer can be very majestic animals but sometimes they’re not always the smartest animals in nature. Like humans, deer can make mistakes in life such as wandering into a bathroom uninvited. Yes, this is another one of those “only in Florida” stories that seem to pop up in the sunshine state frequently.
Police in St. Johns County, Florida were called out to a home who had a deer somehow wander into the bathroom. It’s unknown how the buck got into the house, however the residents were incredibly surprised to see it in there. After unssuccessful attempts to lure the deer out of the john, police and the home’s occupants moved their furniture around to create a pathway for the deer to leave out the backdoor. They then used a pool brush to gently nudge the deer out, which worked….sort of.
Once the deer left the house it apparently did not see the couple’s pool and it fell into the water. Just when police and the homeowners thought they were in the clear, they realized they had another problem on their hands – how to get a deer out of the swimming pool. After some patience and a little guidance from police, they were able to get the deer out of the pool and back on land. After taking a second dip in the pool, the buck finally scampered off into the woods behind the house leaving that Florida family with lots of stories and memories for years to come.
In a Facebook post, St. Johns County Police said the animal ran off before they could give it a tresspassing ticket.
