Alberta’s Brett Kissel will be making a stop at Casino Regina on November 20th with a unique show. His “The Side You’ve Never Seen – Holiday Edition” tour will be a stripped back acoustic show featuring many of the stories behind his songs.
“It is a side of me that I have not really been able to present to the audiences,” explained Kissel. “To have a whole night that’s dedicated to stories is really important to me.”
When it comes to his music career, Kissel has many stories to share. He’s had the opportunity to share the stage with Garth Brooks and Brad Paisley and has recorded several duets with major US performers. Most recently, Kissel recorded a song called “Farmer” with Lee Brice and “Hurtin’ Songs” with Dierks Bentley. He’s also collaborated with Charley Pride, Nelly, 98 degrees, and Cooper Alan, among others.
“It’s great to have a set list that has room to be very spontaneous, where whatever the crowd is wanting, whatever the vibe in the room is going to be, I can take everybody on that journey,” stated Kissel.
This will be the holiday edition of the tour which means Kissel is planning on sprinkling in some Christmas songs. He says he knows not everyone likes holiday music, but he quickly points out the show is not entirely Christmas music. The show starts at 8pm on November 20th in the Casino Regina Show Lounge.
620 CKRM caught up with Brett Kissel to talk about the tour, test his knowledge on real vs fake Christmas songs, and who his first three inductees would be if he started his own Grand Ole Opry. Take a listen below.
