Cindy Fuchs; what can you say about someone who’s committed to helping Saskatchewan communities whether it was with Red Cross or taking a new initiative and growing it from the ground up. Let’s start with thank you for pushing the boat out and into new uncharted waters. Cindy has connected with communities from one end or side of Saskatchewan to the other with both the Red Cross and the Riders, but it is the Rider Foundation that had the growth that Rider fans near and far know best.
Just think about where a Rider Lottery started and then enter the new format of the Foundation. Cindy’s leadership brought in a dynamic fundraising initiative that saw Rider Nation get involved with Chase the Ace, donating on line and leaving legacy pieces. All these things building funds to help a variety of programs for the province’s youth. Saskatchewan Roughriders have travelled to the north to support mental health and wellness, players have gone into schools to promote reading programs. The Foundation has supplied books to libraries and schools in Saskatchewan, there have been donations to school football programs and so many other things.
CKRM and our Harvard stations have had the opportunity to see the Foundation grow through the years and it is a pleasure to wish Cindy Fuchs all the best as she moves from the Executive Director of the Foundation onto social director of her grandchildren’s summers! Good Luck Cindy in all that you do!
