Pense fire department was been dispatched to a structure fire within the town Friday morning.

Among the damaged property after a fire in Pense Friday was Outlaw Garage, owned by John Wilson. His daughter, Macy, says 12 cars were destroyed in the fire, and are complete losses.

Wilson said most of the cars were over $60,000 in value.

“I had a car I bought when I was 12 years old to restore in honour of my Grandma that burned to the ground, my ’62 Ford Falcon, I had $2,000 left to put into it before it was done, that’s the sad thing,” Wilson said. “My ’70 Newport, up in flames, it’s currently on its roof right now, my Dad’s Dodge Challenger, his dream car, one-of-one vanishing point edition we got custom made for us — that was his dream car — it’s gone.”

Wilson said also part of the fire’s destruction was her childhood home.

“It’s devastating,” Wilson said. “I’m in shock still, it’s starting to process with me, but this does not feel good because you work so hard all of your life in my Dad’s case, and it’s gone in minutes and hours.”

Wilson said none of the cars were covered through insurance, and they’re unsure of what insurance the building has.

“My Dad recently went through quite a bit with a break-up a few years ago, and he lost pretty much everything as it was, so he doesn’t have a lot of money,” Wilson said. “He actually ended up paralyzed, and he just started to walk again a few months ago, so we don’t really have good coverage because we didn’t have much money.”

Wilson says the cause of the fire is still unknown.
